Not all hashing algorithms provide the same level of security. Some of the commonly used strong hashing algorithms include:
- SHA-256: Part of the SHA-2 family, it produces a 256-bit hash and is widely used for its [robustness](#). - bcrypt: Designed for password hashing, it includes a salt to protect against rainbow table attacks and is computationally expensive to slow down brute-force attacks. - Argon2: The winner of the Password Hashing Competition, it is designed to resist both GPU-based and side-channel attacks.
